Privacy Policy
This policy governs steadytoddler.com. SteadyToddler’s subject is toddler development and parenting; this page is about the information involved in publishing it and reading it.
Information Received
Visiting steadytoddler.com may generate ordinary technical information — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages opened. Anything you type in yourself, such as an email address for the newsletter or a name against a comment, is collected only because you chose to provide it.
- Because this site covers toddler development and parenting, one point deserves its own sentence — we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Why We Process It
The information is used to keep the site working, to understand which of our guides, comparisons and reference pages are actually read, to send the newsletter to people who asked for it, and — where advertising is served — to support that advertising.
Your Control
Rights available to you may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. The GDPR covers UK and EU readers; the CCPA/CPRA and similar state statutes cover much of the US. We act on Global Privacy Control signals. See Do Not Sell or Share and the State Privacy Notice.
Retention & Security
We do not keep data indefinitely. Analytics expires per the provider’s policy, newsletter data ends when you unsubscribe, comment data ends when the comment goes. Security measures are proportionate: limited access, encrypted connections, and prompt removal of anything not needed. Absolute security is not something any site can promise.
Tracking and Storage
Cookies and similar browser storage are covered separately, in detail, in our Cookie Policy.
-
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Who Receives Data
The parties that may receive data are our hosting provider, any analytics service in use, the email platform behind the newsletter, and advertising networks where advertising is served. Advertising and analytics vendors generally act as independent controllers; the rest act as processors on our instruction.
Age and This Site
This is not a children’s site. It is not directed to under-13s (or under-16s where that threshold applies), no data is knowingly collected from them, and any that arrives is deleted once identified.
Email Marketing
We use confirmed (double) opt-in for the mailing list, so nobody is subscribed by mistake or by someone else. Unsubscribe links and our postal address appear in every email, and we do not sell or rent the list.
